I have used the same macbook air since I started university in 2012. Despite its age it was still plenty fast and capable for my needs (mostly web-based, word processing, lightroom and minor photoshop work). A couple of months ago however it started to act up and started crashing when viewing youtube or doing other tasks it had previously preformed without any problems. I had just changed the battery and I did not want to give up the laptop just yet. After a long time troubleshooting, I identified the probable culprit to be a faulty SSD, as the original SSD for my laptop was apparently part of a faulty batched that had been recalled back in 2013, but which I at the time was unaware of. After much consideration I bought this SSD. I have now been using it for some time and so far I have not encountered any problems. Installation was quite straightforward, easy even for beginners. Upside is that I now also doubled my original SSD capacity and it feels a bit snappier than it used to (although this might also be because I removed a lot of bloat when reinstalling my files) It is quite expensive in comparison to normal ssd's but I suppose the proprietary connector adds some extra costs to production. Overall would recommend as it can really breath new life into old hardware and save it from the landfill.

Einbau ging ohne Probleme, wichtig ist das man den richtigen Pentalope Schraubendreher hat und vorher ein Backup auf eine externe Festplatte macht.

Außerdem muss man nach dem Wechseln mit Alt+CMD+R starten damit der Netzwerkboot mit dem neusten und nicht dem Originalen OS startet.

The original worked fine for a while and then started to give random read and write errors. I returned it and was sent a replacement which is working perfectly.

Good service - but I'm really happy I had backups!

Sollte für mein MacBook Air 2012 als Upgrade gedacht sein.

Die gelieferte Ware weicht vom Produktbild und von der Beschreibung her ab. Passt ganz klar nicht in das Macbook , ist um ca. 15 mm zu lang. Über die Leistung und Qualität kann ich nichts sagen , da ich retourniert habe.
